The Sermon on the Mount begins with a list of Beatitudes. Their purpose, is to present to us nine marks of Christian character and conduct. Having divided the Beatitudes into three groups of three, this sermon looks at the first group of three characteristics which should be present in the lives of those who are part of the Kingdom of Heaven.
